(Best practiced alone and in a quiet space)
A mudra is a hand or body gesture that allows us to attune to the specific energy frequencies within our being.
Sit comfortably with your legs crossed or legs extended (if that is more comfortable). For extra comfort, sit on the edge of a pillow or folded blanket (you can also sit against a wall or in a chair for support). With your eyes closed, rest your hands on your thighs or knees with your palms facing upward and take a few long deep breaths to settle yourself.
Following your final breath, cup your left hand (palm facing up) and slowly place it onto your lap. Gently lift and place your cupped right hand into the left (figure a).

Allow your shoulders to relax and feel your entire body rest into the earth beneath you. Enjoy five breaths holding this centering mudra (eventually work your way up to 30 breaths or about five minutes).
Benefits: helpful for fear, anxiety, immune imbalances and heart disease
Contraindications: practice with caution if you have low blood pressure (i.e. hold for as many breaths as is comfortable)
